Hereford Jive & Swing was founded in December 2009 by a group of local dancers (not teachers) frustrated at the lack of local dances. During 2010 we organised a series of dances in Hereford, mainly 'record hops' but some bands also. In January 2011 Susan took over the solo running and organisation of the group and, after a year of several sell-out band nights alongside regular 'record hops', 2012 sees an expanded programme (see below). The Group is non-profitmaking with any proceeds going to cover investment in equipment and music, and to subsidise an increasing programme of live bands. The more support the dances get, the more we can organise - so come along and have some fun! And please give feedback!

Dancers of all styles are welcome, as are non-dancing partners who want to listen and watch. If you're a beginner or rusty, the dances are a great place to gain confidence and practise moves - especially the 'record hops' which are more relaxed than 'band nights'. If you have no partner, don't worry - we're a friendly lot and there are plenty of 'singles', so you won't be left out.

Tickets are available for tomorrow night with the Jiveoholics

There's a good crowd booked to come along tomorrow night, but there will still be tickets available on the door - so you can risk just turning up if you want to. If you pre-book by ringing me before 5pm tomorrow on 01432 357859 I will put them on the door for you at £8.00 each, thereafter they will be unreserved tickets for sale on the door at £10 each. It's a big venue with a huge dance floor, so lots of space for everyone, and I'm looking forward to some great dancing. See you there!

The Jiveoholics, Leominster, 25 May

Don't leave it too late to get your tickets for our next band night with the fantastic 'Jiveoholics' on Friday, 25 May. Describing themselves as 'the hottest jump jive band in Wales' they regularly pack dance halls around the country, and played 3 fantastic gigs for us in Hereford over the last couple of years. The Leominster venue is even bigger, so hopefully they'll prove just as popular and we'll have a packed dance floor once more.
