Hereford Jive & Swing was founded in December 2009 by a group of local dancers (not teachers) frustrated at the lack of local dances. During 2010 we organised a series of dances in Hereford, mainly 'record hops' but some bands also. In January 2011 Susan took over the solo running and organisation of the group and, after a year of several sell-out band nights alongside regular 'record hops', 2012 sees an expanded programme (see below). The Group is non-profitmaking with any proceeds going to cover investment in equipment and music, and to subsidise an increasing programme of live bands. The more support the dances get, the more we can organise - so come along and have some fun! And please give feedback!
Dancers of all styles are welcome, as are non-dancing partners who want to listen and watch. If you're a beginner or rusty, the dances are a great place to gain confidence and practise moves - especially the 'record hops' which are more relaxed than 'band nights'. If you have no partner, don't worry - we're a friendly lot and there are plenty of 'singles', so you won't be left out.

Steady Edd & The Boogie Men - Leominster, 14th December
There's just one week to go to get your tickets for our last dance of this year. The fabulous 'Steady Edd & The Boogie Men' will be playing at The Royal British Legion Club, Leominster on Friday, 14 December - venue details on separate tab above. The band have played several near capacity dances for us in Hereford, and are bringing their 'expanded line-up' to Leominster, with an extra brass section of 2 sax and a trumpet to give more 'oomph and bite' (to quote Edd). They're always great to dance to and create a great atmosphere playing a real mix of music, from boogie-woogie, swing, rock 'n roll, r&b, jazz, etc ... all geared to dancing. As usual, ring Susan on 01432 357859 or email herefordjive@btinternet.com, or get tickets at jive classes around the Herefordshire area. They are £8 in advance or £10 on the door - so don't leave it too late to book.
See you there!

Only a few tickets left for Steady Edd on 13 Feb
If you intend to come to our dance with Steady Edd & The Boogiemen this Sunday, then give me a ring on 01432 357859 or email herefordjive@btinternet.com to book, as we have very few left. I can save them on the door, so long as you DEFINITELY intend to come, and bearing in mind that lots of people turned up on the door last time, I'd hate you to travel and be turned away. Cost £6 in advance or £8 on the door (if any left). It looks like being another great evening of dancing!

13 February - 'Steady Edd & The Boogie Men'
Tickets are selling fast for our next dance night with popular local band 'Steady Edd & The Boogie Men' - back by popular demand after their packed dance last summer (see pictures). A great evening of jive, boogie woogie and rock 'n roll is guaranteed to get you dancing. The evening runs 7.30-11.00 pm with the band onstage at 8.00 pm. Capacity is limited, so it would be best to get tickets in advance or at the least check availability before you travel to avoid being turned away. Tickets are just £6 in advance and £8 on the door from Susan on 01432 357859 or email herefordjive@btinternet.com. Tickets can also be obtained at jive classes in Bartestree (Hereford), Luston (nr Leominster) and Bishop's Frome. See pictures and listen to tracks at the band's website: http://steadyedd.co.uk/Music.html
